Free Secure Client Software for SSH, SCP, and SFTP

This page gives links for obtaining the client software needed to make use of your oneIgloo account. For instructions on using the software itself, see these pages: Using an SSH Client and Using an SCP or SFTP Client.

Windows

PuTTY provides SSH in a command line window. Once you've downloaded putty.exe, you are ready to run it. There is no installer, just the single file executable, so it can be placed anywhere you'd like (the desktop is a convenient place for most). If you like working at the command line, use psftp for SFTP, and pscp for SCP. You can download these applications from the same site as PuTTY. If you prefer a GUI for file transfer, use either WinSCP or FileZilla.

Mac OS X

On Mac OS X, the ssh and scp commands are already installed and ready to use. Open Terminal.app (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal). You can use ssh and scp from the command line. For a Mac OS X SSH, SCP, and SFTP GUI application, try Fugu or Cyberduck.

Mac OS 9.x or lower

If you're running 9.x or lower, use NiftyTelnet 1.1 SSH r3. This software includes an SCP capability.

Linux / Unix

Most distros include the ssh and scp commands. Simply open a terminal window to use these commands (of course you'll need to know the proper command syntax).
